In the quiet of Sandy Neck Beach, halfway down the beach, a rustic house stands in the middle of the dunes, marsh and water. It provides solitude, beautiful scenic landscapes and a chance to escape everyday life as we know it.

Cape Cod Art Center, in partnership with the Town of Barnstable, is offering day excursions to this beautiful landscape.  It is a place to be if you choose either morning or afternoon to create, have a picnic and immerse yourself in the great outdoors. This opportunity is open to artists of any medium or anyone who craves some time to create without the everyday interruptions of life.

Spots are filled on rolling, first come, first served basis.

WHEN CAN I GO?

You will be transported by the Sandy Neck Ranger for the 3.5 mile drive through the dunes to the house. Trips are planned for May and June and then again in September and October as the colors in the marsh are heightened by the sun.  Trips head out in a variety of times for 6 hours.  Prepare to spend time surrounded by natural beauty.

APPLICATION

There is a basic application and fee, with funds directly supporting the House and the two Barnstable Cultural Districts.

CANCELLATIONS

A $25 handling fee will be charged for all cancellations.  Cancellations by the participant can be made up to two weeks prior to the excursions for a partial refund. No refunds can be made within two weeks of the excursion unless the spot can be filled.

Trips may be postponed or cancelled due to low enrollment or inclement weather. If this is the case, participants will receive a full refund.
