Youth Photography: Shots that POP! AGES 11-16

Go beyond snapshots and selfies. Explore your creativity through digital photography. We will photograph in several locales and create pictures that grab a viewer’s attention. Improve your skills while enjoying the opportunity to explore the area. You’ll emerge with a portfolio of best shots ready to print or use in a slide show to share with family and friends.
Monday, August 8th—In the Studio: Photography Basics, composition fundamentals, and tips to improve your shots.
Tuesday, August 9th—Photo Shoot: Hyannis Waterfront
Wednesday, August 10th—Photo Shoot: Dowses Beach, Osterville
Thursday, August 11th—Photo Shoot: Mass Audubon Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary
Friday, August 12—In the Studio: Post Processing, Sharing, Critique
Needed: You should bring your own camera (point and shoot, DSLR, or cell phone) and the manual if you can find it. A laptop will be helpful to process photos on the last day of class. An iPad, or Chromebook will work fine as long as you can get your photos transferred/loaded onto it and you can download the Snapseed App. (Please check this before class)

Instructor Bio: A juried artist member of Cape Cod Art Center, Susan’s work has been exhibited at multiple galleries and museums in Massachusetts. In May of 2014, her Icicle Studies were included in the 3-person exhibit “Light Matter” at the Griffin Museum of Photography, in Winchester. Her photos have also been juried into shows throughout Southeastern Massachusetts, and part of the Cahoon Museum annual Brush Off for many years. Additionally, Susan teaches photography to teens and adults at Cape Cod Art Center and Cotuit Center for the Arts. A retired middle school teacher, Susan now devotes her time largely to fine art photography and time spent with her family exploring Cape Cod.
