All plants have leaves. Ever wonder how to get the right green for a leaf, draw a leaf that’s curled, in perspective or coming towards you, plus the veins? Then this class is for you. We will cover drawing and painting a variety of leaves and veins in various positions, how they attach to a plant. We will learn to mix a variety of greens to capture the color of that leaf. All levels welcome.

Cobalt Blue
Winsor Yellow
Lemon yellow
New gamboge
Burnt Sienna
Don’t buy paint just bring whatever blues and yellows you normally use.

Instructor Bio:
Lynn Shepherd is a botanical artist who works mainly in watercolor. After retiring from a long career in financial services she decided to study watercolor. She studied with Susan Stranz and then combined her love of art and gardening to pursue botanical art. She received a certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration from the program at the Wellesley College Botanical Garden which is now part of Mass Horticultural Society. She continues to study with various nationally known botanical artists through MA Hort.
