This is a special trip and chance to create some beautiful images of the Milky Way at Race Point Lighthouse near the tip of Cape Cod. We’ll meet at Race Point Beach and then travel by SUV along the over sand trail out to the lighthouse and beach to create images of the Milky Way using the lighthouse, trail and dunes as foreground subjects. John will offer tips on settings, focusing and composition, and will give you a link to a short video on editing night photographs. He’ll also send you an email a few days before the trip with tips on how to prepare.
What You’ll Need
You’ll need a DSLR or mirrorless equivalent, a fast (f2.8 is recommended, f4 will work) wide-angle lens, flashlight and tripod. You should know how to put your camera into Manual Exposure and know which dials adjust the f-stop, shutter speed and ISO.
About the instructor
John Tunney is a fine-art photographer and instructor. He has been leading night photography tour and workshops on Cape Cod for many years.
