It’s the Little Things…
Good things really do come in small packages!
Make beautiful small works in acrylic with instruction, guidance and great ideas for gifts to give away or to enjoy yourself! This class meets twice on Friday afternoon December 11th and 18th just in time for Christmas!
Be sure to buy small canvases in advance for use in this class. I recommend buying the 4”X4” canvases with mini easels at Michaels or order on line. The easels make a great and inexpensive display for the paintings. You may want to work on several at a time, so buy accordingly.
Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.
During this time, I suggest that people try to put together supplies as best as they can without stress or having to go to a store.
Small canvases are a must. They can be purchased in line or at Michaels. I use 4”X4” with mini easels.
Basic Paint Colors: Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Red Medium, Burnt Sienna, Dioxazine Purple, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue (green shade), Phthalo Green (blue shade). You may purchase student grade paints to start.
Stretched canvas, I suggest 4 x 4
Medium grade Acrylic or oil paint brushes: #2, #6, #8, #10, #12 are good to start – this is a basic assortment of sizes. AC Moore and Michael’s have good inexpensive brushes. DO NOT buy the lowest quality brushes, the bristles fall apart into your painting.
Paint Palette-you should have a covered container. I use an inexpensive “Glad” plastic covered food container, approximately 9”x12” from the grocery store with an 8”X11” Stay Wet Sponge (made for the “Sta Wet Palette”) (AC Moore) or a damp paper towel and Palette paper or parchment paper (grocery store) cut to size.
Miscellaneous supplies: container for water at least 12 oz size. scissors, pencil, paper towels
The object here is to put together good, mid- grade supplies at a minimal cost.
