Why do we post our images? How can social media help us in developing our brand, getting feedback on our work, and moving toward our artistic goals? This workshop will present these, and many other, questions and answers in a lecture format with handouts. We will explore the murky waters of social media, including Facebook, Instagram and Flickr. Rita Colantonio will explain the ins and outs of navigating this contemporary and important aspect of your marketing strategies.
About Rita Colantonio
Rita Colantonio is a native of Boston and a former art educator in public schools. Since her retirement to Cape Cod she has exhibited her work in photography and watercolor painting, having won a vast number of awards in photography since she joined in 2005. Rita has also been a member of the Cape Cod Art Center Camera Club for many years and achieved a status of high ranking points in competition and a Photographer of the Year Award in 2016.
In the last several years Rita has shifted her focus to iphoneography and digital image making, which allows her a more creative approach to her work and brings in her painting experience. Her work in digital art has become notable and award winning, both on and off the Cape. Her digital images have been exhibited at the MDAC (Mobil Digital Art & Creativity Summit 2017) in Palo Alto, CA, and other national venues. Her artwork was also exhibited in Sardinia, Italy (2018), the Cultural Center of Cape Cod (2017) and most recently at the Akillian Gallery at Massasoit Community College last fall. In 2018 she was featured in a Chronicle TV segment and interviewed at the Cape Cod Art Center after winning a Best in Show in the Center’s first nationally advertised online competition in Digital Art.
Rita is now a leader in the new Digital Art program at the Cape Cod Art Center and teaches at the Center in an Open Studio format. You can find her work in an ongoing exhibit at Nirvana Coffee Shop in Barnstable, MA. Her work can also be viewed at:
