Artist Bio: Jude Bartlett
Seeing the world thru a camera lens has been one of Jude’s favorite views that started young. Being from Normal, Illinois and growing up surrounded by cornfields, Jude began documenting everything. Photographing to make visual memories, to seek interesting views in the flat landscape, and to find perspectives that may not be obvious for others to see. Working thru college as a documentary photographer at the Field Museum of Natural History honed these photo skills and solidified her love of the medium. Upon earning a BFA degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Jude moved to San Francisco. This offered freedoms of expression and exploration photographing urban environments, and exciting new landscapes for making images using film cameras, iPhones and other digital art technologies. Jude exhibited at San Francisco ArtSpan Open Studios, and her neighborhood gallery. For a decade she worked as a Creative trainer for Apple, teaching classes in technology and especially embraced iPhone photography.
In 2018, Jude moved to Cape Cod and continues photographing and exploring the New England coastal landscapes, taking painting classes and teaching technology classes. This has lead to success winning awards exhibiting photography in Cape Cod, Regional and International juried shows. Jude is an exhibiting member of VAC the Visual Artist Cooperative of Cape Cod, displays work at Local Color Gallery in Chatham and is a Juried Member Of Cape Cod Art Center.
