Zoom links will be emailed before each class. Recordings are posted within three days of each session and remain available for 90 days after the workshop ends.

About This Class

This class is for anyone with a smartphone in their pocket who wants to take their photography further. We’ll cover everything from the basics of image capture to more advanced editing and creative techniques — it’s time to have fun with your smartphone and your smartphone images!

We’ll demonstrate the following apps in class for capturing and/or editing images, with compatibility noted for each:

• Native iOS Camera and Photos editor (Android users: your device’s native camera/editor)
• Snapseed — iOS & Android
• Lightroom Mobile — iOS & Android

• Circular Tiny Planet — iOS only (Android alternatives: Tiny Planet, Tiny Planet Maker)
• KaleidaCam — iOS only (Android alternatives: KaleidoSnap, Kaleidoscope Cam)
• Slow Shutter Cam — iOS only (Android alternative: Camera FV-5)
• Artista Oil and Impresso by JixiPix — iOS & Android
• Destroy Pix — iOS only (possible Android option at www.updatestar.com)
• Average Camera Pro — iOS only (possible Android option at www.updatestar.com)
• Distressed FX and Distressed FX+ — iOS only (no known Android alternative currently)
• Tangled FX — iOS only (no known Android alternative currently)

A Couple of Notes

Apps for iOS and Android change frequently as operating systems evolve, so please hold off on purchasing anything ahead of time. Similar apps will be substituted if needed.

Android users are very welcome! Demonstrations will be shown on iOS (iPhone), and I’ll do my best to point out comparable Android options along the way — many of the apps above are already available on both platforms.

This is an ONLINE class – all instruction will be done via Zoom
