Discover the world of colored pencil art. Ellen Duarte will deliver a comprehensive review of colored pencil materials and techniques. Learn to layer, blend, burnish and more. Explore steps to produce realistic results using colored pencil, and maybe a little mixed media. Experience different types of colored pencil including colored graphite, watercolor pencil, and ink pencils. Produce art on paper, sandpaper, and fabric.
This class is appropriate for beginners and experienced artists.
Instructor Bio: Ellen Duarte has been creating art almost every year since taking up botanical illustration more than a decade ago, when she began her studies at Wellesley College Botanic Garden. She earned her Certificate of Botanical Illustration in 2015. Ellen grew up in Maine and raised her family on Cape Cod. She currently resides in Centerville and is still frequently visiting Maine.
Materials: Materials will be provided and discussed at the first meeting. Feel free to bring the colored pencils and paper you have.
