The Art of Cellphoneography with Dave Mullen
Dates: Saturday, April 18, 2026
Time: 10:00am-2:30pm
Cost: Member $99/Non-Member $125
The best camera is the one you have with you! And the best darkroom is the one you have with you!
In this four-hour workshop we’ll look at basics of good photographic composition, then take a deeper dive into two post-processing apps that every cellphoneographer should be using: Lightroom Mobile and Snapseed. While the images our cameras produce are properly exposed, with good color and sharpness, they are only the starting point of what is possible. By using free applications like Snapseed and the free version of Lightroom Mobile, we can improve upon reality and add our own artistic voice to our images before sharing them with the world. We’ll also look at a variety of other apps for Android and iPhone that can lead to deeper artistic statements. Participants should have a few landscape and a few portrait images on their phones, as well as installing Snapseed and Lightroom. A complete list of possible apps will be sent in advance of the class. A preview talk will be held at the Osterville Library on April 11.
