GOUACHE OR OPAQUE WATERCOLOR with JULIE BLANCHARD
Tuesdays, January 7 – February 11, 2025 (6 weeks)
1:00-3:00 pm
$155 members / $185 non-members
This six-week session will introduce new painters to the possibilities of using a water-
based media that has an opacity to cover earlier layers of watercolor. For lovers of
realism and surface textures this is a perfect medium having properties of both oil and
acryloic paint without toxic mediums.
Materials List for Gouache
Go to Amazon and type in Arteza Gouache Colors. I highly recommend this brand.
I prefer tube sets. No one needs more than 12 tubes unless you just like looking at
beautiful colors.
You will also need brushes. Your own watercolor brushes are also good.
Amazon lists Sable Watercolor Brushes, and 8-piece sets listed at $21.99 – Good buy.
Plastic containers for water
Paper towels
Sketch book for exercises and planning
Pencils, soft #2
Erasers
Your own collection of photos, seashells, leaves, dead branches (Not needed until week #3)
