Sports Photography Workshop with David Mullen
Sunday, January 19, 12:00pm-5:00pm
Optional: Tuesday, January 21, 7:00-8:00pm online
$99 Members/$125 Non-Members (Plus $10 for the cost of the basketball game)
Photographing sports requires an entirely different skillset (and mindset!) from photographing landscapes, still lifes, or portraits! From noon until around 2:30pm we’ll explore an overview of equipment, techniques, and psychology needed to photograph fast moving action. We’ll then head down Route 132 to the Hyannis Youth and Community Center to photograph the Massachusetts Wolves vs. the Connecticut Flyerz at 3:00 p.m. On Tuesday from 7:00-8:00pm we’ll have the opportunity to review and discuss your images online via Google Meet.
Needed: DSLR or Mirrorless Camera, longest lens, fastest lens, widest lens, empty storage card(s).
Helpful but not required: folding chair, monopod, extra batteries. (Note: this workshop is not geared toward using cellphones, as these have inherent limitations that make them less than ideal for photographing sports.)
