ABSTRACTING FROM LIFE with Mellissa Morris
Dates: August 4 – September 8, 2025 (5 weeks- no class Labor Day)
Time: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
$150 Members / $180 Non-members / $35 Drop in Member / $40 Drop in Non-Member
This is a fun way to think and learn about how some Abstract Images are made. This class will start with a still life set up i.e. florals, natural elements, and interesting objects. You will be encouraged to use what YOU SEE in the still life set-ups to inspire and influence your shapes, gestures, colors, and mark making to help you create dynamic abstract images.
Mellissa is an abstract artist exhibiting and teaching throughout Cape Cod. Her work is innovative and expressive ranging in all kinds of mediums and forms. more about Mellissa can be found at MellissaMorris.com

MIXED MEDIA PAD 18”x24”
We will discuss using panels or canvases later in the class
drawing media
painting mediums
palette knife
palette paper or freezer paper
tape
glue
paint brushes
