Provincetown: A Hands-On iPhone Photography Experience with Jack Hollingsworth

Discover Provincetown through a new lens—your iPhone.This is your chance to learn proven, tactical, and actionable iPhone photography techniques from one of today’s leading experts in the field. If you’re a discerning and passionate photography enthusiast, this immersive experience is designed for you.
This full-day workshop in Provincetown blends classroom learning with guided field shooting to help you see, compose, and capture stunning images with your iPhone. You’ll gain hands-on experience in:
- Street Photography – Seeing and composing compelling moments on the go.
- Portrait Photography – Capturing people with natural light and storytelling.
- Food Photography – Making everyday meals look mouthwatering.
We’ll spend the day as a group, with dedicated solo shooting time to explore Provincetown on your own.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a working understanding of:
- Optimizing your iPhone camera settings for intentional photography
- Mastering the Apple-native Camera app for shooting
- Using the Photos app for powerful, intuitive editing
What to bring
- For this workshop, we’ll be focusing exclusively on Apple’s native apps—the Camera app for shooting and the Photos app for editing—so you can get the most out of your iPhone without third-party distractions.
- Update Your iOS Software. This is essential to ensure we’re all working with the latest features and settings.
- Check Your Storage. Make sure you have plenty of space for a full day of shooting. If needed, clear out your Camera Roll and back up photos/videos to an external drive (HDD/SSD) or cloud storage.
- Bring a Portable Charger & Cable. A full day of shooting can drain your battery quickly. You can charge. Your [hone at the Commons, but you might also want to bring a portable power bank.
- (Optional) A fast-charging adapter

3:30 PM – 4:30 PM – Street Photography Lesson (Exploring and capturing the energy of Provincetown)
4:30 PM – 5:00 PM – Wrap-Up & Discussion (The Commons)
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM – (Optional) Break for dinner and rest.

Follow-up Zoom meeting
We’ll gather again via Zoom on Wednesday, June 11, at 6 PM for a one-hour session where you can:
