We made the official announcement at our Autumn National Exhibit reception. Maryellen’s name will also be on a plaque in the lobby as the 2024 winner.
Maryellen Stone is a photographer and digital artist who explores the natural world, seeking color, light, movement, and all things unique and wonderful through whatever lens she has in her hand. She is grateful to be able to combine a love of animals and the outdoors with her photography and attempts to “make the world a little more beautiful”, (Miss Rumphius, Barbara Cooney). As a Juried Artist in photography and digital art, Maryellen participates in members’ exhibits throughout the year. Her work has been accepted in and earned numerous awards and recognition in local, national, and international exhibitions, including both in-person and online exhibits at the Cape Cod Art Center. She is also an active member of the Cape Cod Art Center Camera Club, participating in camera club competitions, presenting programs for club members and at the Click! Photography Conference, as well as hands on workshops.
She recently became one of three chair-people for the Mentor’s Table at the camera club. Maryellen earned “Photographer of the Year”, (Platinum class), honors for 2024 at the Cape Cod Art Center Camera Club. A longtime member of the Merrimack Valley Camera Club, Maryellen earned “Digital Photographer of the Year” for the 2022-2023 season. Her image, “Lioness II”, earned “Digital Image of the Year” honors for the 2023-2024 season. In addition to the Cape Cod Art Center, (juried artist in photography and digital art), and the Cape Cod Art Center Camera Club, Maryellen also belongs to the North America Nature Photography Association, the Photographic Society of America, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, the Plymouth Center for the Arts, the National Association of Digital Artists, and the Reading Art Association.
