Bio: I started my photographic journey like most when I received a hand me down Nikon F at the age of 17. I was forced to learn its intricate settings on a fully manual film camera so I took summer jobs at photo processing shops and photography classes during the summer at Rhode Island School of Design. I continued studying photography at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) in Boston, where I learned more about photography as art. Wanting to be a graphic designer, this led me to course work in a different direction, but I still continued shooting photography and spending long hours in the darkroom. In addition, my art training also consisted of painting, printmaking and animation. I failed miserably at the easel so I would spend that time at the MFA viewing the master’s still life paintings. Disney was out of my reach, so I eventually went into the print media industry beginning with the Boston famed, The Boston Pheonix and eventually the Barnstable Patriot where I was allowed to share my love for photography. I’ve been published on the covers of many Cape Cod publications.
I now find myself drawn back to the roots of my photographic journey. I have a passion for still life photography where I am still influenced by the paintings I would stare at in the museum. My images have been exhibited, awarded medals and sold at various juried competitions at the Cape Cod Art Center, Plymouth Center for the Arts, Creative Arts Center and South Shore Art Center.
