Artist Bio: I have been painting off and on for many years, more of less, since I was a kid. I took a few classes along the way and was lucky enough to learn from some incredible watercolor artists. I didn’t really have a studio when I started out, so a lot of my work was Plein air, and still is. “Plein-air” watercolor painting has given me the habit of keeping an extensive collection of field sketchbooks, a constant source of inspiration and a record of work that goes back more than 30 years. Working in all kinds of weather forces me to sketch compositions quickly and then to paint fast. I try to do the same thing in the studio during the colder months. These are some paintings that I have done in Sandwich since I moved into this historic town five years ago. Many of them are Plein-air. Maybe you can figure out where they were done.
