Seeing the Unseen: The Magic of Macro Photography with Bob Wheaton
Creating macro images can be an exciting and magical experience. Photographing subjects up close can transform ordinary household items such as flowers, seashells or even slices of fruit into compelling works of art.
This talk will discuss the unique equipment used for macro photography including camera settings, lenses and accessories such grip gear, extension tubes and close up filters. You will also learn techniques how to achieve sharp focus, how to control depth of field and how to work with natural and artificial lighting. We will also explore the artistic side of macro photography.
Bio Bob is retired from a 40-year professional career in Environmental Health and Safety in 2018 and moved to Plymouth. Bob’s teaching experience comes from being an adjunct faculty member at Vanderbilt University and conducting hundred’s of training sessions during his professional career. He started Wheaton Images LLC in 2018 to provide commercial photography services and produce fine art for sale at art shows locally. Bob started making images when the first Nikon professional cameras were introduced in 2007. He has also been using Adobe Photoshop for over 25 years (since version 3) and Adobe Lightroom since release in 2007. Bob Initially began using Photoshop to create graphics for health and safety training software development and has used each successive version for creating digital art. Bob has won numerous awards for his photography. Bob is a member on the photo committee and a photography instructor at the Plymouth Center for the Arts.
