Bob Wheaton- Introduction to Infrared Photography
COST: $150 members, $175 non-members.
DATE: Saturday, May 18, 2024, one-day workshop
TIME: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
Infrared (IR) photography opens up an artistic approach in exploring the world of “invisible” light. Why “invisible”? Because our eyes are not capable of seeing IR light, but our cameras can! Using an IR modified camera or IR filter on your lens allows you to make unique looking images and, in particular, dramatic black and white images.
This 4-hour workshop will introduce you to the world of IR photography. We will meet at CCAC and start by discussing and learning about IR photography. We’ll than go to Barnstable harbor and have a practical, hands-on lesson on making IR images. Finally, we’ll reconvene at CCAC and learn post-processing techniques specific for IR photography.
If you do not already have an IR converted camera…no worries, I will have 2 IR converted cameras and an IR filter you can use on your own camera…just bring an SD memory card so you can keep the photos you make.
If you’ve been curious about IR photography, then this workshop is you. The goal of this workshop is to introduce you to the world of invisible light and how to use that to create unique and dramatic images.
This class is limited to 6 students so everyone will have time to experience “hands-on” making IR images.
