Keynote Speaker Brian Rutenberg- I Am Where I Go

Courtesy of Forum Gallery, NY,NY

Through a combination of words and images, Brian will talk about the importance of not over-thinking while painting, and offer suggestions on how we can live more creative lives.

Technique (with an emphasis on mark making), career advice, and his studio set-up will be covered. He will also read a few excerpts from his best selling book Clear Seeing Place with the goal of putting everything into a more personal context.

Brian Rutenberg is an internationally exhibited painter based in New York City. He received his bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the College of Charleston in 1987 and his master’s degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1989.

He is a Fulbright Scholar, a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow, a Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation studio grant recipient, a Basil Alkazzi USA Award recipient, and an Irish Museum of Modern Art Residency Programme participant. He has had over 200 exhibitions throughout North America and in Europe. The popular YouTube series, “Brian Rutenberg Studio Visits,” is viewed daily by thousands of people all over the world. Brian Rutenberg’s paintings are included in numerous public collections including Yale University Gallery of Art, Bronx Museum of Art, The Butler Institute of American Art, Provincetown Art Association and Museum, and Peabody Essex Museum of Art. His new book Clear Seeing Place is an Amazon #1 bestseller.
